This is a chance for you to raise issues and discuss with fellow members and the Post Production & Facilities Committee what we want to see and work on over the year. One of the main themes of the last year was that we need to improve terms for members across the board. Reps from across the union have managed to negotiate a new TV Drama Agreement at the end of last year. These new terms will be coming into effect for all picture editors as of June, so please be aware of the changes and ensure where those work to this agreement it is implemented. For those in Sound we are building a strategy to help you and your colleagues to ensure you have contracts and agreed terms and to improve upon those – this will need engagement from the membership to make a reality. Reps are also developing the Draw the Line on Workshop Time; a campaign for fairer, shorter hours in Major Motion Pictures; we are also working to encourage flexible working as a rout to retain talent, carers and prevent burn out in the industry. We are also looking at how to encourage engagement from those working in Facilities and in factual and entertainment. Lastly we hope to have updated rate cards available. So please join the meeting to hear how you can help with this work– your engagement is vital to affecting change in your industry.
