OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

2022 - 2024

  • We launched the Assistant Editor’s Toolkit!

  • We released a Facilities survey to start collecting data on rates within Post Production & Facilities.

  • We sent representatives to negotiate on our behalf for the updated TV Drama Agreement.

  • We redesigned our website and added new pages to give more detailed information about who we are, what we do and how you can get involved.

  • We expanded our mental health and financial support resources to support members through the SAG-AFTRA strike.


2020 - 2022

  • We won the Large Branch Award at the Prospect 2020 conference!

  • We joined Edit Collective to run mentoring sessions under the brand RENDER, aimed at helping Editors and Assistants from ethnic minority groups step up in their careers.

  • Post Sound launched the UK Post Sound Collective. This initiative aims to provide practical industry advice for anyone in the UK who identifies as a woman, is trans or non-binary and/or is Black or from an ethnic minority and interested in a career in Sound Editing or Sound Mixing for TV and Feature Films.

  • Post Sound put on a panel for over 1240 school kids in partnership with Into Film and Speakers for Schools.

2018 - 2020

  • We held a series of 9 free weekly webinars as part of The Rough Assembly Presents. From Assistant Editing for Beginners, to the ADR process on Netflix’s Dark Crystal, the webinars spanned all levels of experience as well as TV Drama, Factual, Feature Films and Short Form.

  • We launched Rate Cards for Post Sound and Short Form

  • Sound Editors and Assistant Sound Editors were reassigned from the Sound Branch to the Post Production & Facilities Branch.

  • We held two BECTU Post Fests in 2018 and 2019 which was a huge success

2014 - 2018

  • We launched our Factual and Entertainment, TV Drama and Feature Film Rate Cards.

  • We were active in negotiations for the first TV Drama Agreement and the Feature Film Agreement with PACT.

  • We sent delegates to the BECTU Sector Annual Conference.

  • We held our popular “The Rough Assembly” Talks including Meet The Assistants, Meet The Editors, and a Tax Talk.

  • We set up our website www.theroughassembly.com and social media accounts.

  • We introduced regular Wednesday lunch time meet ups in Soho called Wiff Waff Wednesdays.

  • We created merch for The Rough Assembly including beer mats to distribute to Post Production Facilities.

  • We created our Facebook Group.
