We are excited to launch our Mentoring Scheme for 2026, designed to support mid-level post-production professionals ready to take the next step in their careers. The scheme offers a structured, supportive space to learn, share experiences, and build lasting industry connections.

Looking back at last year

In 2025, we ran a mentoring programme for early-career professionals—post production runners moving into trainee roles, short-form editors stepping into film or TV, and trainees preparing for their next opportunity. Over three months, we delivered eight small mentoring groups involving 17 mentees and 12 trained mentors, carefully matching participants by genre and expertise. Our priority was high-quality mentoring over large numbers.

What’s new for 2026

This year, the scheme focuses on mid-level career progression—supporting 2nd Assistant Editors moving up to 1st Assistant Editor, and 1st Assistant Editors stepping up to Editor. While last year centred on those just entering the industry, our 2026 programme is all about building confidence, developing leadership, and preparing for greater responsibilities.

Who is it for?

  • Mentees: 2nd Assistant Editors moving to 1st Assistant Editor, or 1st Assistant Editors stepping up to Editor. Ideally 2+ years in the industry or at least 3 credits in your role.

  • Mentors: Mid-level or senior professionals with 5+ years’ experience who want to guide and support the next generation.

What’s included

  • Goal-setting & introduction session

  • Three mentoring sessions — 1:1 or small group, tailored to your interests

  • Workshops & panels covering career development, rights at work, leadership, workflows, CVs, and inclusion

  • Networking opportunities, including at least one in-person session
