PACT & BECTU TV Drama Agreement - Voting To Reject PACT's Offer

You may have seen in the press that PACT have published an improved offer as part of the ongoing negotiations between themselves and BECTU which seeks to update the TV drama agreement which was first ratified in 2017.

PACT have requested that BECTU should ballot its members on the offer. This ballot will be sent out to the membership on Wednesday 20th July, with voting closing on Sunday 31st July at 11.59pm. Clearly PACT feel this is a very attractive offer which our members will accept, and seek to circumvent your negotiating reps.

We, the committee of the Post-Production branch of BECTU, respectfully advise you to vote YES to register your support for BECTU’s position to REJECT this offer.

We understand you will have many questions for reps and officials. Therefore we are holding 2 all member webinars on:

Wednesday 20th July at 7.30pm

Thursday 21st July at 7.30pm

You will need to register for either session here.

To enable as many queries to be answered as possible please submit questions or comments here.

If you would like to join the union in order to participate in the ballot, for a limited time BECTU is offering a reduced rate for TV Drama crew of £7.50 per month for the first year.

Please enter ‘TVDrama22’ to the job title/grade field along with their job title on the online joining form or anywhere on the paper form. (Note this discount will be applied manually once joined, it will not show up on the online form).

You will need to contact BECTU to be sent the ballot manually if joining this close to the vote.

We are in a strong position. Reps from all branches have been working on our own terms and conditions which we would seek to enforce should the agreement lapse on September 1st and PACT are very keen for this not to happen.

We feel we have to run this ballot or we risk looking intransigent.

But again, we respectfully advise you to reject PACT’s offer in the upcoming ballot in order to force PACT back to the table.
